The Simple Life of Noah Dearborn (1999)

Land developer George Newbern tries to force Georgian woodworker Sidney Poitier off of his land to build a shopping mall. Though not really explained, Poitier is covered by some sort of supernatural blessing that amongst other things makes him look many years younger than his supposed 91. It’s not bad for a made for television film, though it’s a very simplistic story that doesn’t give nearly enough time to character development. Its strength is mostly due to its cast that also includes Mary Louise Parker and Dianne Wiest even though Wiest isn’t given nearly enough screen time.
